A time of fellowship and worship. We gather together as a community and worship our lord through Bible study, singing, and building relationships. We sing praises to our God with a blended musical arrangement consisting of classic hymns and modern praise songs. Come and join our family and walk with us as we do life in this crazy world.
Online Service Time: Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m.
Towerview Baptist Church Coronavirus Update as of 4/2/20
Due to the announcement banning meetings with more than 50 attendees we will not be able to open the church doors for morning worship next Sunday. Only those participating in the service will be able to attend. Please plan on joining us through our live streaming which will begin at our normal time of 10:15 a.m. central time.
Towerview Baptist Church Coronavirus Update as of 3/13/20
Yesterday Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced a ban on gatherings of over 1,000 people. He recommended that all events estimated to have 250 or more in attendance be canceled or postponed until after May 1. The attendance of Towerview Baptist Church does not meet those attendance requirements. However, given the extraordinary events taking place at this moment, we believe it is in the best interest of our congregation and our guests to take steps to insure their safety at Towerview. As a result we are canceling all events at our church with the exception of the Sunday morning 10:15am worship service for at least the next two weeks. At that time we will reevaluate the situation and make further announcements. To be specific, there will be no Sunday Morning Bible Study (Sunday School), and no Wednesday evening events until at least March 29. The only part of the building open will be the lobby, the sanctuary, the offices, and the upstairs restrooms. In addition there will be no child care during the morning worship service. The nursery will be closed. Kid Connection will not meet. The worship service will continue as normal because we will be live streaming it from the sanctuary and those who wish to attend may certainly do so. (Without child care.) At the bottom of this notice you will find a link to view our live stream on Sunday morning.
In addition you need to know that our Finance Committee is in the process of setting-up an online giving platform that will allow you to continue giving your tithes and offerings electronically. I encourage you to join me in doing that. As we all know, the bills do not stop for a virus. Please be faithful to honor God through your giving. We will post directions to sign-up for online giving as soon as the process is completed.
And now a personal note. These are not easy decisions. Our battle cry in these days should be “No fear, just faith.” Jesus is Lord over Coronavirus. But He also expects us to be wise. Thank you for understanding that our hearts’ desire is to go the extra mile and obey the spirit of the law given by our government and not just the letter of the law. This was a rather gut wrenching decision to make. They don’t teach this stuff in “preacher school.” We live in different times. Please take care of your family. Please watch out for your neighbors. Please pray that our kind and loving Father would make us the bold followers of the King that we were created to be!

A STATEMENT ON THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC... (3/12/20)
We are all a bit shocked and amazed at how quickly things are progressing concerning the coronavirus. It is so important that we remember in these days of challenge that we are the church. Jesus Christ is Lord over all, including this virus. We trust him and lean into him for our safety and protection. There is no room for fear in the body of Christ. As we became so used to saying several months ago, “No fear just faith!”
Having said all of that it is important that we be wise. We are taking all of the steps at our church that we know to take to keep our facility clean and virus free. I would like to encourage you to minimize hand shaking and hugging! It is not very often that you will hear a pastor say that! But difficult times call for strong measures in the next day or so I will share with you everything you need to know concerning our preparations to continue meeting online should we have to temporarily suspend gathering together in our building those details will be shared here on this site.
As difficult as all of this is please remember that as the church we are servants of the King. Rather than showing fear we must step forward in faith and become the servants of our community. I encourage you to keep an eye on each other, on your neighbors, and especially on the elderly who may live around you. What a wonderful testimony it would be if our church would become known as the one’s who served in this time of crises! I have prayed for you today.
No fear! Just faith!
